Blueprint: Journal

Despite the increasing number of students pursuing their own scientific research, reputable research journals are often considered “off-limits” to high schoolers. Our journal, Blueprint, represents the quality scientific work of high schoolers, regardless of access to high-quality labs or other resources. We aim to create a formal youth scientific publication dedicated exclusively to publishing the work led by these students.

Currently, we are collaborating with the i-STEM Scholars program, a STEMchats initiative that connects high school students with university labs to contribute to a research project. Blueprint is working with the program to produce a special edition scientific journal featuring the i-STEM scholars and their research this summer.

Review

Blueprint aims to guide researchers through the peer-review and scientific publication process. If accepted, researchers will go through a thorough peer-review process, with two rounds of editing. After each round, the author will receive detailed and comprehensive feedback on their work. This involves potential mentorship from Blueprint team members and the peer-review team.
